Fire and Ice

I absolutely loved the first half of this book but I was really bothered by Katsa's decision to only be Po's lover and nothing more. The minute their relationship moved into an affair the book went downhill for me. Who wouldn't want Po forever and Why did they have to ruin a young adult novel?

I realize she is a strong independent woman but I though she was portrayed as too masculine. I was also disappointed when Po turned out blind, it struck me the same as Tally's boyfriend losing mental capacity in the Uglies series. I guess I am a sucker for good old fashioned values and a happy ending.
