This book is a good read for teenagers or adults questioning their faith in God. It shows that humans, even the best of them, have weaknesses. At the same time, though we lose faith in people, God is still there as a constant. I found the plot little slow myself, but liked the lessons through out. To be honest I was angry at Charlie, her father during most of the book. I wanted him to DO something about his family and step up to be the man he was for his church followers. I wish the relationship between Sam and Nick would have been fleshed out more. The ending was lacking, and it felt all too wrapped up neatly for me.
